Nathaniel - School Of Music

James Prajwal

James PrajwalJames began playing the keyboard at the age of six. With his musically-inclined family encouraging him, he pursued formal music education, training for piano with the Royal School of Music. James eventually transferred his excellent musical foundation to the guitar as well and has grown into an active performing musician in a variety of playing contexts. He regularly mans the pipe organ at St. Johns church, deepening his roots in hymnody and Western classical arrangements (he has an abiding fascination for Chopin and Bach), but also takes stage with bands such as Warriors and Vessels, playing rock music influenced by the likes of Deep Purple and Dream Theater. James is an experienced teacher who has successfully helped students across various age groups understand how the building blocks of music come together. Drawing on his own learnings as a practicing musician and a teacher, James sees an education in musical theory and its physical application to an instrument as an irreplaceable aid to transforming one's playing from a mechanical action into a creative act of communication between musicians and even within the player's own faculties.
